Abstract

The wonder is one of the things that is destructive and detrimental. It is mentioned in the holy hadith narrated from the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him): "Whoever enters the wonder will perish. “Wonder is one of the serious scourges that afflict many people, so they are distracted from thanking the Creator to thanking themselves, from praising God with what He deserves to praising themselves for what they do not deserve, from humility to the Creator and being broken in His hands to arrogance, and from respecting people and knowing their homes to despising them and denying their rights. This scourge is one of the most dangerous pests on the soul because it shows you what is not good and discourages you from work and self-accountability. So, what is wonder, what are its causes, and what are its consequences will be discussed in this paper.
