This article delves into the Islamic concept of Huqooq-al-Ibad, which pertains to the rights of mankind under Islamic Shariah law and canons. The author begins by exploring the modern idea of human rights that emerged in Europe after the Renaissance, along with the Western philosophy that shaped this principle. The author then proceeds to compare the Islamic theory of mankind as slaves of Allah with the Western theory of human rights created by men. The article cites Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) last sermon, or Hajat-ul-Wada, as the basis for the Islamic concept of Huqooq–al–Ibad and Huqooq-e-Allah. Drawing from primary and secondary sources, the author presents a comprehensive argument for why the Western idea of human rights is at odds with the Islamic concept of the rights of mankind, (who are viewed as slaves and servants of Allah, the Creator.)
