ARABIC 3 THE LEGALITY AND WISDOM OF SOCIETY’S ROLE IN COMBATING CRIMINAL CRIME

Abstract

The topic of society's role in combating crime (enjoining good and forbidding evil) is very important in achieving the interest of the nation and its salvation. If it has been neglected, the society will face a great danger and corruption and will result the disappearance of virtues and the emergence of vices, as Imam Al-Ghazali said, “It is the important thing for which God sent all the prophets, and if he folded his simplicity and neglected his knowledge and his work, prophecy would be disrupted and religion withered, and misguidance, ignorance and corruption would be spread. And the country will be devastated, the people will be perished, and they will not feel their doom until the Day of Proclamation. The wisdom of the legitimacy of society's role in combating crime is to achieve security and stability. It is the best deterrent that repels people from aggression, so the group lives in safety, and efforts are directed towards building and prosperity. This is because God Almighty - just as He created souls to love good - has placed in them the love of domination and aggression. The strong are inclined to oppress the weak, and cries of discipline and reform may not suffice, nor the verses of threatening the painful torment in the Hereafter for the aggressors. There is a great need for a material deterrent and immediate punishment so that people can be repulsed and stop their aggression, so that they can live in safety. In this article the legitimacy has been proved by Quran, Sunnah and Ahadith, Ijma (consensus of Jurists). In the last it has been tried to highlight the wisdom of society's role in combating crime. The wisdom of this is that the people become accustomed to how to respond to aggression, because many people refrain from harming others for fear of responding to aggression.
