Abstract

The social system in the tribal areas of Pakistan consists of many traditions. These traditions help them in settling down various regional and private matters. If we analysis these traditions, we find that some of them have many contradictions with Islam, while some others follow Islam to a great extent. However, there are other traditions that are ambiguous, as they vary depending on different situations, and you can't say anything about that. Nanawaatae is one such traditions that has separate status in different areas. In this paper we have focused on this tradition being practiced in Waziristan and discussed the shariah status of its different types.
