AN OVERVIEW OF THE BOOK "FUTUH AL-BULDAN" AND THE BIOGRAPHY OF ITS AUTHOR AL-BALADHIRI, AN ARAB HISTORIAN

Abstract

The Life History of “Al-Balazri”, His Personality and His landmark services in the history of Arabia generally and History of Islam and other Muslim countries particularly are enlightened in this paper. He was a famous Arab historian, genealogist, geographer, poet, author, and relator and interpreter of 3^rd Century during the Abbasian era. His works of genealogy in Arabic History were revolutionary. He wrote several books which serve the purpose of a resource and authentic materials. People from all walks of life can find his books as a resource to access due to the intellectual and authentic information they carry. Although He has written so many books, and all his books considered main Sources of History and Its different fields, but two of his books are considered as primary resource for researchers and historians. These books are ‘Fotuh-ul-Buldan’ and ‘Ansab-ul-Ashraf’. Thus, this paper is the depiction of Al-Balazri’s life history, his books, especially introduction of book ‘Fotuh-ul-Buldan’ for the facilitation of upcoming researchers.
